Contentment and Tenderness

My husband and I have been searching for a new house or apartment to live with my mother. Recently my mother feels uneasy without us often and we have put the priority to take care of her and to find a new place.  To spend more time with her is happy for us and to search for the new places is exciting for us, but  I have had less time to take photos or post blogs.  I have no way except posting a new one occasionally or simpler one for a while.  Thanks a lot for visiting my blog and leaving heartwarming comments.

I do not know when summer had gone and autumn came.  Not yet autumn leaves, but wind  and sunset tell me transparent autumn is here.

When wind blows,  silver grasses bow.

They are shining in the early sunset.

Young sunset over Great Buddha Hall.

Over the five storied pagoda.

Nara is a blaze in the sunset.

I love gold waves of paddy fields.  Contentment and tenderness of autumn.

I don't know the names of grasses but they are beutiflly shinning.

Who Has Seen the Wind?
by Christina Rosetti

Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you:
But when the leaves hang trembling,
The wind is passing through.

Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I:
But when the trees bow down their heads,
The wind is passing by.

  4. Wow, Snowwhite, these photos are spectacular. I love all the grasses blowing in the wind, the sunset and the pagoda silhouetted by the light. I love too that you are looking for a new home so your mother can join you. I too have been through the worry of leaving a sickly parent at home alone. May you be blessed :-)

  5. Best wishes for you and your mother. I love those photographs. My father lives over 1,600 miles (2,600 km) from me and it can be challenging to see him more than once a year.

  12. Tenderness and contentment with your breathtaking photography!

The poem by Christina Rossetti was used in a Japanese song, “Kaze” translated by Saijyo Yaso. Do you remember we sang it at elementary school? “誰が風を見たでしょう?僕もあなたもみやしない。けれど木立を震わせて風は通り過ぎてゆく・・・” I had thought the lyrics was original Japanese till I found it a British poem.

Your mother is so fortunate to have a daughter like you and a son like your husband. Wish you a nice new residence.

  15. Each of your sunset photos conveys a different special mood - all are so lovely. The grasses of autumn are my favorite. I love your gold and green photo of "bowing" grass tassels. Good luck finding new housing to ease your mother's worries.

  18. Your photos are just wonderful and inspiring.
I am sorry you have this worry over your mother. There comes a time when we have to take care of our parents just as they took care of us when we were little. My time is taken up with looking after my husband who can no longer look after himself.

Thank you for sharing your lovely phots with Our World.

  21. Hello, snowwhite.

The silhouette seems to symbolize this autumn.
The setting sun is the same as the ancient times now.

    Only the Nature is truth.
    The absolute existence.

The Nara city may drift in the flow.

I like the header and the first photos. A powerful dark pagoda and shining flexible pampas grass is great.

  26. Your photos are always so beautiful, it really does calm my heart and I'm always looking forward to you next post. The view of the city is so pretty! And yes, it does seem very much like fall now in Japan...I think it's here much earlier than last year.

I hope you and your family are able to find the perfect home for all of you! Take care and will look forward to your next post. No rush :-)

  28. Another beautiful, tender post - you always raise my spirits and make me feel centered and serene. I'm so happy to see that you think of Fall as Transparent. I have always felt that in October, the air is transparent and we can see our ancestors in shimmering layers if we are still and look quietly. There they are, walking right there beside us in the Silver Grasses.
