This is a candle holder at a temple. The candles are offerings from people.
In the dark the glasses reflect the soft candlelight - quiet prayers of the worshipers.
There are three offerings given to Buddha everyday.
To light a candle
To burn incense
To ring a bell or a gong
I felt as if I'd heard the sincere whispers of the worshipers
tres reussi bon w end ;O)

Wonderful darkness and light. These are great!
ReplyDeleteYours words and photo and ideas are all beautiful together here.
ReplyDeleteIt's so difficult to photograph a flickering candle in the dark. I especially like the first photo where the flames seem to be swaying and you can glimpse the blue light at the base of the flame. It mesmerizes and quiets the mind to watch the candles and think of the prayers.
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic, love it!

Today I was gazing such candles in front of a small temple for a while. I found that yours were more impressive than the real ones. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteYou captured delicately flickering candle lights so nice. At this place, I have only seen candle lights in the daytime. I'd love to see them after sunset. In the photo, I feel as if people's invisible prayers are emitting light.
